Whether exploring nearby majestic Inkan sites or cultivating personal wellness, Willka T’ika is the ideal Luxury Retreat and home base situated in the heart of the Sacred Valley, one of the earth’s most energetically charged and culturally rich settings. Its renowned Chakra Gardens vibrant with exotic flowers and Andean medicinal herbs, crowned by an ancient Lucuma tree, its fresh organic vegetarian cuisine, together with its dedicated Quechua staff who provide kind attentive professional service are amongst its special features.

Meals

Quechua staff lovingly prepare Willka T’ika’s breakfast and three-course dinner. All meals are completely vegetarian, prepared with organic freshly- harvested produce, herbs and grains grown in the Willka T’ika gardens. Local organic coffee and fresh herbal teas from the gardens are enjoyed in the morning and afternoon. A bag lunch can be ordered the previous evening for an additional fee. Special diets are catered to with advance notice.

Willka T’ika offers beautiful communal spaces created especially for group gatherings.These include two yoga studios, a furnished library, a music room with instruments, a ceremonial temple room, and an outdoor fire area. The Chakra Gardens also provide various outdoor spaces for quiet gatherings. Willka T’ika honors the ancient way of the Andes in every aspect of its design, development and operations—from organic gardening methods to sustainable construction and water use, to local staff working together to ensure the quality of care and attention given to guests.

Itinerary

  • Airport Hotel

    Day/evening on own, options include tour of historic city center, informal group dinner for everyone who’s arrived.

  • AM: Early domestic flight from Lima to Cusco arrival before 11am.

    Group airport transfer departs for Willka T’ika in the Sacred Valley by 11:30 a.m. En route, explore the mysterious Moray Circles set amidst beautiful mountain scenery. A short distance away, discover the ancient Maras salt farms and choose to hike a zig-zag trail down into the Sacred Valley where your driver will meet the group to continue on to Willka T’ika.

    PM: Welcome lunch at 1 p.m. at Willka T’ika. Introduction to the Willka T’ika family - the Quechua staff who will take care of you during your stay. After an orientation with your guide, you will have a guided tour of Willka T’ika and the renowned Seven Chakra Gardens. Options for individual spa treatments.

  • AM: This day is dedicated to Pachamama, Mother Earth, and guests are encouraged to relax or meditate in the splendors of the Chakra Gardens. Sign up for an optional 15-minute private coca leaf reading with a pakko, a Qero healer, visiting from the high Andes. Optional guided walk through the nearby Rumichaka farming neighborhood where Quechua campesinos live. More challenging hikes along scenic routes into the valley are also possible.

    PM: Enjoy an organic vegetarian lunch at 1 p.m. Guests can schedule Andean spa treatments & private coca leaf readings continue. Optional ceramic art project at a nearby ceramics studio. After dinner, our pakko invites guests to an authentic and transformative Andean fire ceremony to honor Pachamama, yourself, and your loved ones. The ceremony will remind us to focus our intention for this journey and serves as a wonderful preparation of mind, body and spirit for the pilgrimage to Machu Picchu.

  • AM: A day of Ayni, or reciprocity. Drive through the Sacred Valley to a Quechua mountain school supported by the non-profit Willka T’ika Children’s Fund. Since 1995, Willka T’ika has supported isolated mountain communities where few tourists visit. In an ayni exchange, the group will offer an interactive activity for the Quechua children. The warmth and heart-warming joy of the children and their openness in bringing guests into their daily lives are moments not easily forgotten.

    PM: Continue with your guide to the spectacular ruins of P’isaq. Overlooking impressive Incan terraces, the group is invited to hike to the Temple of the Sun. Meditate as a group or walk in silent reflection. Enjoy a box lunch with a stunning view. Return to the main square of P’isaq by bus (or hike!) and visit the famous, colorful market filled with high quality woven goods, jewelry, wall hangings and hand-painted beadwork. Enjoy a café in the market square where you can observe colorfully dressed campesinos. P’isaq is a photographer’s dream. Return to Willka T’ika with time for rest and reflection before dinner.

  • AM: Early breakfast. Morning tourist train to Aguas Calientes, the gateway to the majestic terraces of Machu Picchu. Enjoy an enlightening tour of the ancient “City of Light” with your guide.

    PM: Continue to explore Machu Picchu ruins, and hike to the Sun Gate or to the Incan Bridge, taking photographs along the way as you enjoy the magnificent views. At 6:30 p.m. meet outside your hotel - Willka T’ika invites you to a fabulous celebratory three-course dinner in one of the finest restaurants in Aguas Calientes.

  • AM: Open day in Machu Picchu with entrance ticket included, with option to climb Huayna Picchu Peak, depending on availability. Return to the ruins for another glance at the Incan splendor. Return by bus to Aguas Calientes with time for a cool beverage or snack at a local café. (additional $300 cost for peak hike)

    PM: Afternoon train back to Ollantaytampu, transfer to Willka T’ika in time for a late dinner.

  • AM: Visit the ceremonial site of Ollantaytampu and its famous Sun Temple. Enjoy walking the cobblestoned streets of this quaint picturesque town. Picnic bag lunch en route back to Willka T’ika.

    PM: After lunch, complimentary group cacao ceremony is offered. Cacao is a sacred “teacher” plant that helps us open our hearts and connect with our higher self. The delicious, chocolate beverage is prepared with love by our staff and served in a musical, meditative ceremony by a shamanic facilitator.

  • A special day of mindful integration at Willka T’ika. Guests can opt to schedule a sweat lodge/plunge pool this day (4-6 max).

    Or choose a guided morning hike to the town of Urubamba through farming neighborhoods and visit a lively Peruvian market and the famous Seminario ceramics shop. Hike or take a mototaxi back to Willka T’ika for $1.

    1:00 pm: Lunch

    Afternoon spa services for guests to enjoy.

    6:30 pm: Farewell Celebration Dinner with classical Andean musicians.

  • AM: After breakfast, a group transfer departs Willka T’ika. En route to Cusco, stop at the Incan ritual fountains at Tipon. “Where there is water, there is life.” Participate in an ancient Andean ceremony to honor Yaku, the spirit of water. At this picturesque site, you will have the opportunity to touch the holy water to open the body’s energy centers and activate and enhance your individual creative and healing forces. Return to Cusco, check into your lovely Cusco hotel conveniently situated off the historic Plaza de Armas and have lunch on own at a cafe of your choice.

    PM: Take an afternoon guided walk through the cobblestone streets of San Blas. Your professional guide will point out fascinating Incan stonework en route. Explore the Korikancha Temple, the holiest site during Incan times. Dine on own in evening.

  • AM: After breakfast at the hotel, depart with your guide to the awesome giant stones of Saksaywaman overlooking the city of Cusco where your party may choose to participate in a brief meditation and hike around the vast Incan site. Picnic lunch is provided.

    PM: Meet in hotel lobby at 6:30 p.m. Willka T’ika invites the group to dine together for a closing dinner at wonderful local restaurant which caters to various dietary preferences.

  • 10:00 a.m. Check-Out Time.

    Arrange your own individual transfer from the hotel to the Cusco airport, to connect to Lima, and then your flight to home. If current covid protocol requires, covid testing for return flight home can be arranged in coordination with the hotel. Filled with the pure spiritual energy of your Andean transformational journey-of-a-lifetime, arrive in your home city the same or next day.

Travel Info

We’re flying into Lima, Peru on 10/27, staying overnight at an airport hotel, then taking a domestic flight to Cusco, Peru the following morning 10/28, arriving by or before 11:00a.m. in Cusco.

Flights

Book your international flight for arrival into Jorge Chavez International Airport, Lima, Peru on or before Friday 10/27 evening; and book a connecting domestic flight from Jorge Chavez International Airport to arrive no later than 11:00am Saturday 10/28 in Cusco.

There are several airlines that fly into Lima, however, flights from Lima to Cusco are handled mainly by LATAM.
